Sharing - Disable the IE Image Toolbar

Disable the IE Image Toolbar on your Web site As someone interested in photography, you may or not be annoyed with the presence of the IE Image Toolbar. The image Toolbar is the little thing that appears on web site images in the top left corner that allows you to Save, Print and Email an image directly from the web page. The image below is the Toolbar.

There is a way for you to easily turn off the appearance of this toolbar by adding a few lintes of HTML into your web page. Follow the 2 steps below to make this thing stop appearing over your pictures -- afterall, you dont want something overshadowing or disturbing the display of your photograph.

# Insert this Meta tag between the and tags at the top of any page on your Web site that contains images:

< META HTTP-EQUIV="contentimages/imagetoolbar" CONTENT="no">

# Insert this attribute into the IMAGE tag: GALLERYIMG="no"

For example
< img src="mediafolder/eyeWeb.jpg" width="300" height="300" alt="digital eye cover art" border="0" GALLERYIMG="no">

Now, when any viewer using Internet Explorer 5 or later rolls over your images, the image toolbar will not appear.

Please note, I have included a space after the "<" in each of the tags in the 2 examples above so that they can be displayed. In order to use this code, remove the space after the "<".
